Anonymous said: So, I'm a first grader at a music course (I'm 18, so I'm a bit older than the others), and my song teacher wants me to sing Walking In The Air on our christmas concert even though first graders aren't supposed to sing on that concert, since I've done it before and she says I'm good enough... But I have to take an audition first, and there's a third grader who's going to audition with the same song and I don't know what to do... :( I don't want to ruin for her, but I really want to, and idk..
Okay, so where I’m from, a first grader is like seven years old, so you can understand my confusion as I read this until it finally clicked (I just woke up and I’m a little slow this morning).
If there’s one thing I’ve learned from auditions, it’s that all you can do is your absolute best and go from there. If you’re better than this person, you get the part. If they’re better than you, there’s always next year. You aren’t going to be ruining anything for her. It’s not up to you to decide who gets to sing, so you don’t need to worry about it.
Just go up there and be awesome and let whatever happens happen.
